The Adoption of Energy Efficiency in key areas, Primary Schools can drastically reduce running costs whilst improving services within the working and learning environment.

  • Pupils should learn about sustainability in their lessons, as part of the curriculum
  • The school campus should be managed in a sustainable way
  • The school should act as a catalyst for sustainability within the local community

The Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) wants every school to be a sustainable school by 2020 and believes schools play a vital part in developing the skills children need to lead sustainable lives. The Government’s Sustainable Schools strategy outlines how schools can start their journey towards becoming sustainable, encouraging them to take on board the principles of sustainable development across all aspects of school life.

Greensuite has provided innovative solutions to schools to improve School Sustainability through the adoption of services such as Green ICT which has not only reduced the Environmental Impact of legacy computing systems but has improved facilities and reduced the running costs of a key learning asset.

A Greensuite case study Illogan School, Cornwall adopted a Greensuite Solution in 2010 which increased the access of key learning resources from 17 users to 30 users at a lower capital expenditure than legacy systems. Additionally, the applications also provided a long term saving of nearly £30,000.00 for the life of the solution through reduced power consumption and the 15 year life of the products supplied.
