Simon Murley was born in Cornwall, is married with two children and served in the armed forces before setting up the successful Microcomms Group. Whilst being ever enthusiastic about new technologies, he became increasingly uncomfortable with the energy used to produce, transport and run these technologies.

In 2008 Microcomms was asked to collaborate on a project, ‘Our Planet’ with the remit to provide the design/consultancy of a cutting edge ICT system that would showcase previously unreached standards of technology and deliver a unique system of edutainment and collective collaboration which would inform the world about sustainability and environmental issues. During the time taken to design the system, Simon and his team engaged with some of the world’s highest and most well respected pioneers of sustainable technology and innovation. Simon set about researching socially and environmentally sound products, products that were not only best of brand and technologically sound, but products that were ethically produced and environmentally friendly. He found that not only did these products exist, but they were tried, tested and found to be just as good, if not better, than the high energy consuming existing products. Even better, they were cheaper buy and cheaper to run in the short and long term. However, the team questioned whether any of the larger ICT and Tier 1 Companies had the ability to deliver a completely Green ICT Platform.

This obvious but overlooked gap in the market was the seed that formed Greensuite, which aims to establish itself not only an exemplar provider of ICT Solutions in the  public and private sector, but provide solutions which were compatible which the environment, were socially aware and were financially competitive with existing technologies.
